expect の用法_7_他動詞_7_〜するだろうと思う_2

本日も前回の用法の続きです。

 ・The manufacturing sector is expected to decline to 16.9 percent of total wage and salary employment, while services would increase to over 41.8 percent and retail trade to nearly 23.9 percent.  (製造業は賃金・給与総額の16.9%に減少しますが、サービス業は41.8%以上、小売業は23.9%近くに増加すると予想されます。)

【研究】1. be expected to do で「〜すると思われる[予想される]」を意味します。2. これは It is expected that...でも書き換え可能なので、上記の例では、It is expected that he manufacturing sector will decline to 16.9 percent of total wage and salary employment. と書き換え可能です。こちらの方が少し硬い表現になります。
