本日は、比ゆ的な意味合いが強い come の用法です。これまで扱ってきた come に比べやや抽象度が高く日本人が使いにくい例を扱います。
(1)「〜に至る」「〜に達する」の例:

・Everything in this world comes to an end, but God never comes to an end. (この世のものすべてに終わりがある。しかし、神が終焉の時を迎えることはない。)

(2) 「(考えや感情などが) 浮かぶ」の例:
・As I looked out, a sudden idea came to me, and I turned quickly to Will. “The snow!” I cried. (外を眺めていると突然アイデアが浮かんだ、すぐに振り返りウィルを見た。「雪だよ！」私はそう叫んだ。) www.amalgamatedspooks.com is Expired or Suspended.
・Then another idea came across her mind. (そして彼女に別のアイデアが浮かんだ。)
