本日は fall out of bed の用法を扱います。
・An elderly senile patient with a history of falling down was left in bed with the side rails down. She fell out of bed and hurt herself. Another patient, an alert 28 - year - old, was instructed by a nurse to call for help before getting out of bed . After the nurse left the room, the patient got herself out of bed and fell. (転倒歴のある老齢の患者がサイドレールを下げたままベッドに寝かされていましたが、ベッドから落ちて怪我をしてしまいました。 別の患者 (注意深い28歳の方) はベッドから降りる前に助けを呼ぶように看護師に言われていましたが、看護師が部屋を出た後自分でベッドから出て転倒してしました。)
【研究】fall out of bed で「ベッドから転げ落ちる」または「(慌てて)飛び起きる」を意味します。
次回からは fall over one another [each other] の用法を扱います。
